ISLAMIC. Circa AH 2nd-4th century / AD 8th-10th century. Seal (Lead, 29 mm, 9.04 g). Four lines of inscription, ‘mimmā amara bihī / ʿAbd [Allāh amīr al-muʾ]minīn / ʿalā [yaday al-]Walīd / ibn al-Qaʿqāʿ(?)’ (‘From that ordered by the Servant of Allah [and] the Commander of the Believers, under the hands of al-Walid son of al-Qaʿqaʿ(?)’ in Arabic). Rev. Handle on a plain surface. Some scratches and deposits, otherwise, very fine.
